'Felony Lane Gang' Targeting Suburbs

The burglars are breaking into cars to steal purses.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville Police Department is warning residents about a criminal organization of motor vehicle burglars called “The Felony Lane Gang” that has been targeting suburbs in the past few weeks.

In a post on the department’s Facebook page, police said these offenders often target women’s purses in locked or unlocked vehicles at daycare centers, school drop-offs, gyms, dog parks, sports facilities, and any other recreational area where purses are routinely locked in cars, placed under a seat, hidden beneath a blanket or secured in a trunk.

Police said the suspects use stolen checks to commit multiple forgeries against victim accounts, always in bank drive-through lanes (and how the group was named).
