Fire Evacuates Students, Staff From Naperville North
No one was injured in the fire, which caused $15,000 in damages to the school.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Hundreds of students and staff members were evacuated from Naperville Naperville North High School after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the school in the 800 block of N. Mill Street around noon for a report of a fire on the roof and smoke beginning to fill the cafeteria. Officials say some 800 students and staff members were safely evacuated before fire crews got to the scene.
The fire was brought under control within about 10 minutes.

According to a news release, the fire started after a worker accidentally ignited something combustible with a torch while doing maintenance. No one was hurt in the blaze, which caused $15,000 in damage.
