Firecakes Donuts Aims For August Opening In Naperville
Firecakes Donuts is set to open on the Main Street Promenade in downtown Naperville in late August.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Chicago's beloved Firecakes Donuts plans to venture further into the suburbs when it opens a new location in downtown Naperville this summer. The family-owned donut shop aims to welcome customers to its shop at 50 S. Main St. before the end of August, according to a social media post.
Firecakes Donuts is known for its ever-evolving menu of fried donuts, which are made using a "safely guarded" family recipe, the company's website states. The flavors include classic donuts, seasonal treats and epic "hall of fame" donuts.
The shop's array of "hall of fame" donuts features such mouth-watering flavors as candy apple, peppermint hot chocolate and maple bacon long john, all of which are subject to availability. Seasonal donuts include chili lime mango, blueberry cake and Varlhona chocolate with espresso cream.

Even the selection of classic donuts at Firecakes tiptoes a bit outside the box. Diners can opt for a traditional buttermilk old-fashioned or indulge in a classic donut slathered in wildflower honey.

Donuts at Firecakes are fried in vegetable shortening, not lard, per their menu. A gluten-free and vegan donut is available on a limited basis and pre-ordering is recommended to secure this coveted treat.
Firecakes Donuts also blends house made ice cream that you can get sauced, sprinkled or sandwiched between two donuts. Wash it all down with a charcoal latte, a nitro coffee or an herbal tea from the eatery's beverage menu.
When Firecakes opens in downtown Naperville, it will mark the company's second suburban location. You can also find Firecakes Donuts in Oak Park, River North and Lincoln Park, or aboard their traveling donut truck, Billy, as it makes its way throghout Chicago.
