Firefighter Sustains Minor Injuries Battling Blaze In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — A firefighter was injured early Tuesday battling a blaze in the 300 block of Julian Street in Naperville. The fire broke out in a single-family home just after 5:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Naperville Fire Department.

When firefighters got to the scene, they found flames and smoke extending from the back deck of the home to the attic. The home's seven residents had already evacuated safely.

The firefighter, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to Edward Hospital, treated and released.

Fire officials say the blaze was caused by an outdoor grill fire that extended to the back of the home.
