Former Jail Guard Falsified Log Records in Sandra Bland's Death: Report

The ex-guard at the Waller County jail said he made it appear he checked on her within the hour before she was found dead.

An ex-guard at the Waller County, Texas jail reportedly falsified jail log records, making it appear that he checked on Sandra Bland within an hour before she was found dead.

Cannon Lambert, the lawyer for Sandra Bland’s family, said the guard “told him under oath that he falsified entries on a jail log, indicating he checked on Bland in the hour before she was found dead when he did not,” according to the Houston Chronicle.

The death of Sandra Bland made national headlines when she was found dead in a jail cell three days after being pulled over July 10, 2015, for a lane change violation. An argument ensued between her and the officer and she was arrested.
