Former Teacher Must Register as Sex Offender for Life
The 28-year-old Naperville man sexually abused a student between March and October of 2014.

A Naperville resident and former teacher and coach at Wilmington High School has been given 30 months of probation for molesting a female student in 2014.
John D. Lewis, 28, of the 1500 block of Fairway Drive in Naperville, must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Lewis was originally charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and four counts each of criminal sexual abuse and child pornography. He pleaded guilty June 17 to the aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge and one count of child pornography.

Will County State’s Attorney’s spokesman Charles Pelkie told the Tribune the guilty pleas were the result of a negotiated disposition, per the family's request, who did not want to have the girl testify during a trial.
The abuse occurred between March 2014 and October 2014.
