Foster Homes Needed 1/31

Please help us bring them to safety.

FOSTERS NEEDED TO HELP DOGS ESCAPE FREEZING CONDITIONS

It is very cold and icy at the shelter, and several wonderful dogs are waiting for the chance to leave freezing concrete behind and come into warmth, safety, and love. These dogs are scheduled to transfer to Safe Haven Dog Rescue on January 31, but this can only happen with confirmed, committed foster homes in place by Wednesday, January 28.

The dogs in need include:
Waylon (#25249)Male Lab mix, approximately 2 years old, 45 pounds.Waylon is a calm, well-mannered dog who is excellent on a leash, treat motivated, and eager to please. He tries hard to keep his kennel clean, plays well with both male and female dogs, and is good with children. He is even goat-friendly. Waylon previously stayed in a home with three dog-aggressive Cane Corsos and calmly ignored them, showing remarkable stability and impulse control. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative, and on heartworm prevention.

Happy (#24156)Male yellow Lab mix, approximately 2.5 years old, 60 pounds.Happy was found very thin on a rural road and was likely dumped. With consistent meals and care, he has become a healthy, affectionate, and joyful dog. He walks well on a leash, plays with dogs of all sizes, loves human attention, and is food motivated without showing aggression. Happy is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Dash (#25226)Male Lab mix, approximately 6 months old, 22 pounds.Dash has a striking seal-colored coat that glistens in the sunlight. Frost (#25286)Male mixed breed, approximately 12 weeks old, 15 pounds.Frost is one of the last remaining puppies from a litter of nine. Born under a shed to a stray mother, he is playful, social, and thrives on interaction. He is vaccinated (two rounds plus Bordetella), dewormed twice, and on heartworm prevention.

Willow (#25283)Female mixed breed, approximately 12 weeks old, 21 pounds.Willow is a sweet, playful puppy who loves attention and has a lively personality. She enjoys active play followed by long naps. Willow is vaccinated (two rounds plus Bordetella), dewormed twice, and on heartworm prevention. Frost and Willow can be fostered separately.

Conrad (#25197)Male mixed breed, approximately 10 months old, 40 pounds.Conrad is the last of a litter of three and was left behind simply because he is a black dog, a group statistically overlooked in shelters. The organization that took his siblings could not accept another black dog, leaving Conrad waiting. He is affectionate with people, enjoys cuddle time, and plays well with dogs of all sizes and both genders. Conrad is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and on heartworm prevention.
