Garage Fire Damages Home In Naperville
The fire left a home in the 3000 block of Kingbird Court uninhabitable.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A garage fire caused smoke damage to a home, displacing a family in the 3000 block of Kingbird Court in Naperville Thursday night.
A resident told fire officials they smelled smoke after a smoke detector was triggered just before 9 p.m. Fire trucks arrived at the scene shortly after and were able to put out the blaze in 10 minutes.
Fire crews continued to perform smoke removal and put out any hidden fires that may have extended into the two-story home.

All residents were able to safely escape the blaze, but as of Friday morning, a cat was still "unaccounted for," according to a news release from Naperville Fire Department.
Fire officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation, but added that it does not seem to be suspicious.
