Give the New Year a Great Start at DuPage Children’s Museum

DuPage Children's Museum is teaming up with local organizations to give children and their families opportunities to give back.

DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) is teaming up with Inside Out Club DuPage (IOC), Naperville Public Library, Naper Settlement, Naperville Park District, and other local organizations to give children and their families opportunities to give back to their community in a fun, interactive way during Community Cares at the Museum on Saturday, January 12, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Participating organizations were asked to provide an activity that encourages children and their families to give back to their community and challenge the common “make and take” experience. For example, DCM will ask families to help prepare supplies for upcoming programs at the Museum. Cutting, counting, and sorting supplies is a great way to practice responsibility while building math and fine motor skills. In addition, IOC will help children create mini-fleece blankets for animals in need that will be donated to Comfort for Critters that partners with animal shelters across the country.

“The Museum is focused on broadening their impact by supporting more experiences that help children develop social and emotional skills,” said Cassie Coffey, Public Programs Coordinator, DuPage Children’s Museum. “We hope this event will show that you begin to make your community better at any age and that giving back can be a fun way for families to spend time together.”

Admission to DuPage Children's Museum is $12 for adults and children age 1 and older, and $10 for seniors; it's free for members and children under one year.
