Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby Coming to Naperville
Participants ages seven to 20 years old are welcome to compete in the Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby, set for Sept. 11
NAPERVILLE, IL — Competitors between the ages of seven and 20 years old can vie for glory during the 2022 Greater Chicago Soapbox Derby, which will be held Sept. 11 in Naperville. The event will be held near the intersection of Frontenac and Diehl Roads.
Participants should not make or bring their own soapbox car, as cars will be available for use at the derby. Bicycle helmets will also be on hand for racers to use, but competitors can also bring their own helmets.
The derby races kick off at 9 a.m. and will be held throughout the morning and afternoon. A parent or guardian must be present to accompany racers who are younger than 18 years old.

A fee applies for those who want to take part in a qualified race, but participants can also opt to take a downhill demo ride at no cost.
