Gun, 'Suspected Cocaine' Seized During Drug Arrest In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — An Aurora man was charged with multiple felonies after police say he was found with a handgun and more than 75 grams of what was suspected to be cocaine.

Alfonso Peregrino-Becerra, of the 100 block of South Edgelawn Drive, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He was arrested Nov. 14 in the 1900 block of Jefferson Avenue following a months-long investigation by Naperville police.

Police reported that they stopped Peregrino-Becerra in a parking lot and found a Springfield Hellcat 9mm handgun in his car beneath the driver's seat. They also reported finding 50.1 grams of "suspected cocaine" in the car, along with an additional 29.6 grams of suspected cocaine.

Peregrino-Becerra was taken to DuPage County Jail after his arrest.
