Holi Festival of Colors To Brightly Welcome Spring In Naperville

The 9th Annual Holi Festival of Colors brings music, food, and clouds of colorful powder to Naperville.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Brilliant colors will burst into the air over the Naperville Riverwalk at the city's 9th Annual Holi Festival of Color on April 7. The festival honors the annual Hindu Holi celebration, which welcomes the start of spring with music, dancing, and revelers who toss colorful powders into the air and let the bright hues fall onto their beaming faces.

The festival represents letting go of old stresses and anxieties as you embrace the new life that comes with spring. "People bury their hatchets with a warm embrace and throw their worries to the wind," the event description states.

The Holi Festival of Color in Naperville is presented by the Vedic Cultural Society will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grand Pavilion on the Naperville Riverwalk. In addition to traditional Indian and rock music, the festivities will include authentic Indian food and souvenir items that will be available for purchase.

Admission to the festival is free and revelers can buy pink, orange, purple, blue, and other intensely colored hues made from organic powder for a small $2 donation.
