NAPERVILLE, IL — With "Jeopardy!" champ James Holzhauer shattering countless records (he holds the top 10 spots for most money won in a single game) and securing his 26th straight win on the show, it's no longer a matter of whether the Naperville North alumnus will break $2 million in total winnings. It's a matter of when.

Holzhauer, who has been averaging about $78,000 per game, handily won Wednesday's show, taking home $71,885. This brings his total winnings on the show to $1,939, 027. At this rate, Holzhauer could easily break $2 million on Thursday's show.

Holzhauer already holds the second spot for total winnings in regular game play. If Holzhauer crests the $2 million mark, he inches ever closer to dethroning Ken Jennings, who won a total of $2,520,700 in 2014.

Just to give you some perspective about how rare it is to break $2 million on "Jeopardy!" — the player who won the third highest amount in regular game play, David Madden, took home a measly $430,400.

Watch "Jeopardy!" Thursday to see if Holzhauer will make game show history. And, in the meantime, catch this clip of him slaying Final Jeopardy! on Wednesday.
