Woman Woke To Find Intruder Near Her Bed With Weapon: Police

An 18-year-old is charged with three counts of felony home invasion.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man has been charged with home invasion after police say a woman woke up to find him standing at the foot of her bed with "an edged weapon." Peter W. Purduski, 18, of the 800 block of Webster Street, was charged with three counts of felony home invasion in connection with Sunday's incident.

According to Naperville police, Purduski got into the home in the 300 block of Spring Avenue via an unlocked door. After the resident woke up and saw Purduski, police say he fled, but responding officers found him nearby.

In a news release, Naperville police reminded residents to keep their homes and cars locked. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6666 and ask to speak with the investigations division.
