'Jeopardy!' Champ Holzhauer Snags 23rd Consecutive Win
Naperville native James Holzhauer returned to the show after a two-week hiatus, but he hasn't lost his touch.

NAPERVILLE, IL — James Holzhauer, the Naperville native who has consistently slain nearly every record on "Jeopardy!," returned to the show Monday after a two-week hiatus to do just that. Holzhauer took on new competitors for this 23rd consecutive win on the show after the annual Teacher's Tournament.
Holzhauer had earned more than $1.6 million before going into Monday's game, where he won $89,229, bringing his total winnings to 1,780,237.. Since beginning his run on "Jeopardy!" Holzhauer, a pro gambler who now lives in Vegas, has secured most of the show's records for daily winnings.
Holzhauer has been on a lucrative streak for these 23 games, but he still has a ways to go until he overtakes Ken Jennings in terms of longevity. Jennings won 74 consecutive games on "Jeopardy!" in 2004 and snagged a grand total of $2,520,700.
