Jewelry Thieves Targeted Senior Citizens In Naperville: Police
Police say there have been three reports of thieves stealing jewelry items from seniors in the past week.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Three senior citizens had their jewelry stolen from them in Naperville within the past week, according to an update from the city officials.
The thefts took place in parking lots on 75th Street and Ogden Avenue, the update said. The thieves talked to each victim and then slipped inexpensive jewelry on their wrist or neck while removing the more expensive jewelry the victims had been wearing, police said.
In the wake of the incidents, police are advising residents to stay vigilant and to be cautious if strangers come up to them in parking lots. If you believe you may be targeted in such an incident, police advise you to call 911.
