Lawsuit Claims House of Dreams Raffle is Illegal

The winner of the grand prize will receive a million dollar house, but the lawsuit says that's never happened.

A lawsuit claims that the House of Dreams Raffle is illegal and violates state law.

The suit was filed against Naperville Rotary Charities and asks that refunds be paid to those who purchased a $100 ticket for the raffle “because the group allegedly operates illegally, misrepresents its charitable donations and pays hundreds of thousands of dollars to a company managed by a relative of the group,” according to the Chicago Tribune.

The raffle offers a grand prize of a million dollar dream home or the same amount in cash. The lawsuit alleges that this prize has never been paid out and that Naperville Rotary Charities has kept the profits.
