Lightning Strike Ignites Fire In Naperville Home
Officials say the fire caused roughly $30,000 in damages to a home on Corktree Road.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A lightning strike ignited a fire in a Naperville home Sunday night, causing approximately $30,000 in damages.
Fire crews were called to the 4600 block of Corktree Road just before 11 p.m. Sunday for a report of a single-family home that had caught fire after being struck by lightning. When firefighters got to the scene, they saw flames coming from the roof of the house.
The blaze was extinguished in less than 15 minutes, according to a news release. Residents were able to return to their home following the fire, the cause of which was attributed to lightning. No one was harmed during the fire.
