Local Dentist Provides $24,000+ in Free Dental Care
Successful day of free dental care with the Dentistry from the Heart Organization.
Naperville, IL - June 25, 2015 - Despite the rainy day, Dr. Thomas Brown provided over 150 dental services, totaling in over $24,483 in free dental care to those in need in the community. This event was held at Dr. Brown’s office in Naperville, where over 20 volunteers donated their time to help offer free cleanings, extractions, and fillings. Some of the patients drove over 70 miles to see Dr. Brown and the staff!
One patient commented, “Each person I encountered was not only very kind, but also extremely professional. Please know how appreciative I am of your services today.”
This event was held with Dentistry from the Heart (DFTH), a national non-profit organization with a simple mission – making people smile. Founded in 2001 by a dentist in New Port Richey, Florida, DFTH was created to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-insured Americans. Over 100 million Americans lack dental insurance, and over 29 percent of adults have untreated cavities. Without events like DFTH, oral healthcare simply isn’t an option for many of the uninsured. To date, DFTH has helped over 5,000 patients and provided over $1 million in oral healthcare across the country.
