Local Physical Therapist to Present at Orlando Conference
Jane Borgehammar has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists' Annual Conference.

Physical Therapist Jane Borgehammar has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists’ Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, on Oct. 27. Borgehammar practices at Synergy PT LLC, located at 825 N Cass Ave. in Westmont.
Borgehammar, along with co-presenters Ron Schenk and Cora Aytona, will deliver a presentation entitled “Therapeutic alliance to optimize results.” The lecture will highlight the importance of the patient-clinician relationship and communication on physical therapy outcomes. Current literature on empowering the patient through therapeutic alliance will be discussed, including effective and ineffective patient communication styles to enhance between session gains and concordant signs to drive patient education.
Borgehammar received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines and completed her clinical residency for the McKenzie diploma in Scotland. She completed fellowship training and earned her master’s in orthopaedic manual physical therapy from Daemen College in 2018. Borgehammar is currently on faculty with the McKenzie Institute USA and serves as a fellowship mentor for the Daemen College and McKenzie Institute programs.
