Man Accused Of Stabbing Woman Multiple Times At Hotel In Naperville
Police say Willie Tidwell, 50, of Chicago, stabbed the woman, with whom he had a relationship, in her neck, chest and stomach on Sept. 10.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Chicago man is being held in DuPage County Jail without bond after police say he stabbed a woman multiple times at the Extended Stay Hotel on Center Point Circle in Naperville. Willie Tidwell, 50, was charged with attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery in connection with the Sept. 10 incident.
Police say Tidwell went to the hotel around 9:17 p.m. and had an argument with the woman, with whom he was in a romantic relationship. Tidwell is accused of hitting the woman repeatedly before drawing a knife and stabbing the woman a total of 11 times in her neck, chest and stomach before fleeing the scene.
An investigation led police to Tidwell, who was taken into custody in Calumet City on Sept. 30.

“It is alleged that Mr. Tidwell ruthlessly beat and stabbed an innocent woman eleven times and then left her bloodied and beaten on a hotel room bed,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release.
Berlin added, “Domestic violence remains a top priority of my office and any allegation of such will be aggressively prosecuted."

“This was a brutal act that could very easily have been fatal, and I'm incredibly grateful that the victim in this case is recovering,” Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said.
Tidwell is set to appear in court on Oct. 31.
