Man, Cat Saved From House Fire On Maple Knoll Court
Fire officials say the man was found in the home's kitchen and the cat was rescued from the basement.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville firefighters rescued a man and a cat after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a home in the 1500 block of Maple Knoll Court Saturday.
Fire crews arrived at the home around 2 p.m. to find a large amount of smoke coming from the front door. After entering the house, firefighters helped the man get out via a back door in the kitchen. A second resident had escaped the home before fire trucks arrived.
One man was taken to Edward Hospital as a precautionary measure to treat minor smoke inhalation, a news release said.

The cat was found in the home's basement and is in good condition.
The home was deemed to be uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
