Man Shot In Leg In Parking Lot In Naperville; Person In Custody

One person was in custody after a man was shot in the leg by someone he knew while in a parking lot in Naperville.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A man was shot in the leg while in a parking lot in downtown Naperville Saturday. The incident took place around 11:45 p.m. in the first block of Van Buren Avenue.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for injuries that were deemed not to be life threatening.

According to police, the man was shot by someone he knew, but no additional information was available about how the pair are acquainted. The man who was shot described the vehicle involved and police later pulled the car over and took a "person of interest" into custody, a news release said.
