Mechanics From 9 Naperville Car Dealerships On Strike

More than 1,700 mechanics are part of the walkout.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Mechanics from nine Naperville dealerships are among the nearly 1,700 auto dealership staff currently on strike after rejecting a contract proposal from the Chicago Automobile Trade Association. The strike began at midnight Tuesday as members of the Automobile Mechanics Local 701 voted overwhelmingly to walk out as a deadline to approve a new contract passed.

Nine Naperville car dealerships were on the list of striking mechanics: Bill Jacobs BMW MINI, Cadillac of Naperville, Lexus of Naperville, Fair Oaks Ford Lincoln, Gerald Kia of Naperville, Gerald Nissan, Gerald Subaru, Toyota of Naperville and Woody PBG.
