Naperville Park District offers several outdoor mobile tours at Knoch Knolls Nature Center, and now has added a nature scavenger hunt for the west end of the Naperville Riverwalk in an area known as Sindt Woods.

The Sindt Woods scavenger hunt is designed for children ages 4-10 and their families, scout troops or school groups. The scavenger hunt and other mobile tours can be viewed at napervilleparks.toursphere.com. Groups can go on the scavenger hunt anytime during park hours, which are daily from sunrise to one hour after sunset.

The scavenger hunt will lead participants through a series of clues to find destinations, or stops on the tour. Once they have reached each destination, they will be asked to participate in an activity or answer a question. The explanations provided at each stop include fun facts, photos of plants and wildlife, recordings of song birds or tips on observing nature.

“The new scavenger hunt focuses on the fall and winter seasons,” explained Nature Center Manager Angelique Harshman. “We plan to update the hunt in the spring and summer with some new clues to fit those seasons. We also are working on a new Sindt Woods nature tour for adults and youth ages 11 and up that will be available soon.”
