Motorcyclist Dies After Naperville Crash

A 17-year-old from Naperville was cited for failure to yield. Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to come forward.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A 21-year-old Maple Park woman died Sunday, two days after she was involved in a crash at 75th Street and Naperville/Plainfield Road. Police said Calabria M. Taber was driving a 2006 Honda motorcycle when she was struck by a 2011 Acura MDX as it made a left turn onto westbound 75th Street from Naperville/Plainfield Road at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Taber was transported to Edward Hospital in Naperville before being transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where she was pronounced dead on Sunday, police said.

The driver of the Acura, a 17-year-old Naperville boy, was not hurt in the crash. Police said he was issued a citation for failure to yield turning left. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Police closed 75th Street from Millbrook to Book Road following the incident. The road reopened at around 1:15 a.m. Sunday. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
