Mulch Fire Damages Siding Of Home In Naperville

Officials say a neighbor helped extinguish the fire with a garden hose.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A neighbor helped extinguish a mulch fire that damaged a home in Naperville Thursday.

The Naperville Fire Department was contacted around 3:45 p.m. for a report of a fire in the 5000 block of Switchgrass Lane. Fire officials say the neighbor was spraying the fire with a hose and that the fire had spread to the siding of the home.

Firefighters used a pump can to put out the rest of the blaze, a news release said. No one was hurt in the fire, but the home's electric meter did sustain some damage.
