NAPERVILLE, IL — Local artists are urged to dust off their canvases and ready their brushes and other art tools to compete in Chromethesia, the 2023 public art contest hosted by Naperville Art League and Loaves and Fishes.

This year's submissions must draw inspiration from the theme of "chromesthesia," which Merriam Webster defines as "synesthesia in which color is perceived in response to stimuli (as words or numbers) that contain no element of color."

The contest welcomes artwork in any type of two- or three-dimensional media, including computer art pieces. There are two categories: one for high school and college students and another for adult artists. Submissions must be dropped off at Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery, 508 N. Center St., Naperville, by 4 p.m. on April 11.
