Naperville Blogger Set To Compete On Jeopardy!
Hemant Mehta will compete on Wednesday's episode of Jeopardy!

NAPERVILLE, IL — Another person with ties to Naperville is set to compete on Jeopardy! Naperville-based Blogger Hemant Mehta will test his wits on the show to see if he can measure up to the winning streak set in 2019 by James Holzhauer.
Mehta will compete on Wednesday's episode of the show, which airs at 3:30 p.m. CST on ABC 7.
In his blog, The Friendly Atheist, Mehta talks about what it was like to try out for Jeopardy! He writes he took a 50-question quiz to pass the first round of selection, after which he headed to Milwaukee for an in-person audition.

Mehta writes he was told that of the 80,000 people who take the test each year, about 400 wind up on the show, sometimes after waiting for over a year. He got the call three weeks later telling him he was selected to compete on the show.
Mehta chalked it up to luck. He writes, " From what I can gather, they didn’t call because I had some crazy-great audition. I think I just got lucky in terms of who they wanted and when they needed contestants."
