Naperville To Crack Down On Impaired Drivers For Holidays

The crackdown in part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville Police Department plans to crack down on impaired drivers this holiday season. Patrols and traffic stops will be increased from Dec. 18 through Jan. 4 in an effort to keep roads safe.

“During this season of caring, let’s remember to extend our goodwill to fellow motorists,” Naperville Police Sgt. Rick Krakow said in a news release. “The best way we can do that is by making a commitment to drive sober and thereby help ensure that we all make it to our destinations safely.”

Police are advising motorists to:

  • Plan for a sober ride home by designating a sober driver, using a rideshare app or taking public transportation
  • Take keys away from friends or family members who may be in danger of driving impaired
  • Wear safety belts
