Naperville Elementary Schools Dominate 2018 'Best Schools' Rankings

As the 2017-18 school year gets underway, three Illinois schools — all from Naperville Community Unit School District No. 203 — snagged spots in the top 100 on Niche.com's 2018 list of Best Public Elementary Schools. The site has also released its rankings of the best elementary schools in Illinois, with many other Naperville schools making the grade.

To arrive at the rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data and ratings collected from Niche users. The methodology for each category of rankings varied with some factors having a higher weight for certain categories over others.

The 2018 rankings released last month rank elementary, middle and high schools, as well as school districts. For all of Illinois' budget and school funding woes, Illinois high schools did well, taking the top three spots on Niche's Best Public High Schools In America List. No Illinois schools made the top 25 public middle school rankings.

Three elementary schools in Naperville Community Unit School District No. 203 earned spots in the top 100 in the nation: Meadow Glens (No. 24), Highlands (No. 93) and Ranch View (No. 99). Those campuses were the top three on the Illinois list, earning A+ ratings.
