Naperville to Host FootGolf Tournament This Weekend
Naperbrook Golf Course will offer FootGofl through the end of the season.

FootGolf, the fast-growing, new sport combining golf and soccer, is coming to Naperbrook Golf Course this fall.
The kickoff event to introduce FootGolf at Naperbrook is a tournament on Sat., Oct. 18 run by the Illinois FootGolf Association. The Naperbrook tournament, which is the 9th IFGA FootGolf Open, will include both IFGA members and nonmembers and novices to the sport. Online registration opens Thursday, Oct. 9 atwww.footgolfillinois.com.

Following the Oct. 18 tournament, Naperbrook will offer FootGolf Sunday through Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until closing through the end of the golf season.
“We are excited to be able to introduce FootGolf at Naperbrook this fall,” said Naperville Park District Director of Golf Ed Provow. “We have seen a few other golf courses in the area include FootGolf successfully. It’s a way to think outside the box and expand the use of our courses.”

New players, both kids and adults, will be able to jump in and participate in the Oct. 18 tournament as well as observing how the game is played by experienced players in the IFGA.
“FootGolf has a very short learning curve,” explained Carlos Stremi, IFGA president and founder, soccer coach and lifetime recreational golfer. “It’s a perfect sport for families and individuals who enjoy a game that is easy to learn and can be played in less than two hours.”
