Naperville Islamic Center Condemns Orlando Massacre
The center is encouraging all residents to donate blood.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Islamic Center of Naperville has condemned the recent attacks in Orlando that left 50 people dead.
In a statement released on its website, the center “strongly condemns the despicable acts of violence in Orlando and sends our deepest sympathies to the families of the victims.”

The massacre perpetrated by a “misguided individual” is explicitly forbidden in Islam and is punishable by the strongest manner, the statement said.
The ICN encourages all community members to donate blood for the victims in order to show compassion, which is reflected in the “true teachings of our faith,” the statement said.

Speaking to the Chicago Tribune, ICN Board Member Aadil Forid, said the attacks were “terrible, wrong, bad, despicable. There is absolutely no moral or religious justification or explanation for that.”
