Naperville Man Accused of Not Reporting Accident With Injuries

Naperville man lost control of vehicle and hit several objects injuring passengers in car in Sept. 13 accident, Chicago police said.

A 28-year-old Naperville man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after Chicago police said he failed to report an accident that left several people in a vehicle with serious injuries.

Philip Cho, of the 900 block of Amberwood Circle, was charged with one felony count of failure to report an accident with injuries and misdemeanor counts of failure to notify a damaged or unattended vehicle and failure to reduce speed.

Police said Cho was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle striking several fixed objects in the 700 block of West Erie Street in Chicago on Sept. 13, according to a news advisory.

After the vehicle came to a rest, he allegedly fled the scene leaving several passengers behind with serious injuries.

He was identified as the driver and arrested, police said. Cho has a bond hearing at 26th and California on Tuesday.
