Naperville Man Charged With Gunrunning: Cops
Police say Mohammed Haq, 38, sold at least nine guns illegally, two of which had been stolen.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man was arrested Monday after police say he illegally sold multiple guns, at least two of which were determined to have been stolen. Mohammed Haq, 38, of the 2700 block of East Gateshead Drive, was charged with felony gunrunning, in connection with incidents that date back to 2019.
Police say Haq sold nine guns to a person in Aurora on three separate occasions between Sept. 13 and Oct. 11, 2019.
“The illegal sale of guns continues to fuel violence in our streets,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release about Haq's arrest.

Berlin added, “If not for the outstanding work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Aurora Police Department and the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Haq’s alleged illegal gun sales may have resulted in nine additional firearms finding their way into the wrong hands."
Haq is currently being held in DuPage County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is set to appear in court again on Oct. 15.
