Naperville Man, Chicago Woman Face Felonies After Traffic Stop

The two people were charged after Naperville police said they were traveling in a stolen vehicle with non-matching stolen license plates.

NAPERVILLE, IL – A Naperville man and Chicago woman face felony charges after they were stopped by police early Wednesday morning after an officer discovered that the vehicle they were traveling in had two different license plates, police said.

The identity of the Naperville man, 40, and his 26-year-old passenger have not been released. The pair was arrested after Naperville police spotted the vehicle in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue at 2 a.m. on Wednesday. Police determined that both of the non-matching plates were stolen as was the vehicle the two people were traveling in, police said.

Police continue to investigate the link to the stolen car, but the man who was driving the car has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen license plates and with being a fugitive of justice, police said. The woman was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
