Naperville Memorial Day Parade Canceled Due To Extreme Heat

Temperatures are expected to be close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday in Naperville has been canceled. The decision was made due to "extreme heat" anticipated throughout the day, according to an email from the city's communications manager Linda L. LaCloche late Sunday.

Sunday's temperatures, which reached 96 degrees, caused concrete to buckle and trigger multiple lane closures on Rte. 59. The forecast for Monday calls for a high of 95 degrees.
