Naperville Named Wealthiest City in the Midwest

Naperville has a median household income of $104,419 and a median home price of $364,300.

Naperville has been named the wealthiest city in the Midwest, according to an analysis by NerdWallet.

To figure out the rankings, NerdWallet analyzed cities with at least 65,000 people and looked at the median household income, percent of homes without a mortgage, monthly median home value and the average credit limit for card holders.

Naperville has a median household income of $104,419 and a median home price of $364,300. 23 percent of homes had no mortgage and the average credit limit was $67,075. Those stats gave Naperville a score of 93.06, placing it in the number one spot in the Midwest.

According to NerdWallet, the Midwest is the most affordable region if you’re looking to live in one of the wealthiest cities.

Rounding out the top five are, in descending order, Carmel, Indiana, Arlington Heights, Illinois, Evanston, Illinois and Fishers, Indiana.
