Naperville North Alum Prevails After Long Air Pod Theft Case: Report
Amara Harris spent more than three years fighting a ticket from Naperville accusing her of stealing Apple Air Pods, Propublica reports.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville North alum has prevailed in court after three years battling a ticket she got when she was accused of stealing Apple Air Pods from another student, according to ProPublica.
On Thursday, a jury decided that 20-year-old Amara Harris was "not liable" for the theft ticket she received in 2019.
In the years since the ticket was issued, Harris has maintained that she picked up the Air Pods unintentionally, believing they were her own. She pursued a trial and after Thursday's verdict, told ProPublica, "I am just glad it’s over. I maintained my innocence, and they saw that I maintained my innocence."
