Naperville Nursing Home Has 34 Confirmed Coronavirus Cases: IDPH
According to Illinois Department of Public Health, Alden Estates Naperville has 34 confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths.
NAPERVILLE, IL — According to information obtained from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), 34 coronavirus cases and two deaths have been confirmed at Alden Estates, a nursing home in Naperville. At press time, Alden Estates did not immediately return a voicemail request left by Patch to confirm the numbers.
In a post on its website, Alden Estates said it "has been and is following recommendations of the CDC, state and local health departments with regards to COVID-19." According to the post, these measures include monitoring symptoms daily, eliminating communal dining and restricting non-essential visits.

The post indicates that families are getting communication about preventive measures via phone calls, emails, letters, Facebook updates and website updates. At press time, the most recent blog about preventive measures was posted on the Alden Estates website April 7.
The Alden Estates Naperville Facebook page includes photos of Alden Network staff member at other Alden Network locations wearing masks, along with updates about ways residents at other Alden Network homes are being entertained during this time.

If the IDPH numbers are accurate, Alden Estates in Naperville has one of the highest outbreaks of coronavirus in DuPage County. Chateau Center Nursing and Rehabilitation has 54 cases and 10 deaths and Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream has 81 coronavirus cases and 11 deaths, according to IDPH.
The IDPH website states that numbers are provisional and subject to change. They add that "[c]ases include lab confirmed cases and cases meeting the CDC outbreak case definition of 2 or more."
