Naperville Park District Special Events for Spring 2022
Egg hunts, Wildflower Walks and other spring-themed events planned for April and May

The Naperville Park District offers a lineup of spring-themed events and programs in April and May for a variety of ages and interests.
On Saturday, April 2, the Park District will offer an Organic Gardening Workshop for ages 16 and up designed to teach the basics of organic gardening, including helpful tips on how to plant and maintain an organic garden at the Ron Ory Community Garden Plots. The workshop is from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Knoch Knolls Nature Center. A Basic Gardening Workshop will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 at Knoch Knolls Nature Center for gardeners of all levels of experience.
In addition, the Park District is offering tours of the Ron Ory Community Garden Plots at 811 S. West Street with an overview of the garden plot program and an opportunity to ask questions. Tours are offered at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22 and at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1.

A free workshop, Establishing and Maintaining Your Lawn, will be presented on Saturday, April 9 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Knoch Knolls Nature Center. Ron Biondo, horticulture educator and consultant, will give tips on how to establish, renovate, and maintain your lawn.
Knoch Knolls Nature Center will host three Wildflower Walks for ages 16 and up. Led by a naturalist, participants will get an up-close view of different woodland flowers at Knoch Knolls Park. Walks are scheduled from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, on Friday, April 29 and on Saturday, May 14.

The tours, walks and workshops are free but registration is required at www.napervilleparks.org/nature.
The Flashlight Egg Hunt returns on Thursday, April 14 from 7:45-8:15 p.m. and from 8:40-9:10 for kids ages 9-13 at Knoch Knolls Park Lower Picnic Grove. Kids are invited to bring a flashlight and hunt for prize-filled eggs under the stars. Register online at www.napervilleparks.org. The cost is $13 for Naperville residents and $18 for nonresidents.
Frontier Sports Complex will host the annual Jaycee Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 1-8 on Saturday, April 16 at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Parents are advised to arrive early, as the eggs disappear quickly. This event is free and requires no registration. The Jaycees will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items at the event; no glass containers, please. The event will take place at the softball fields located at 3380 Cedar Glade Drive.
Junior golfers and their parents are invited to the 2022 Junior Golfapalooza—a fun, educational event at Springbrook Golf Course to kick off the 2022 golf season. The event will take place on Saturday, April 16 for ages 5-17, including returning players and those brand new to the game. Registration opens April 2 at www.golfnaperville.org. The registration fee per junior participant is $5 for Naperville Park District residents and $7 for nonresidents.
Fort Hill Activity Center, located at 20 Fort Hill Drive, is hosting a free Shredding Event from 8:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. This event is offered in partnership with the Naperville Police Department. Additionally, Fort Hill Fitness is offering a Zero Enrollment special on April 16 for those who purchase fitness memberships that day.
The annual Earth Day Fair will be held at Fort Hill Activity Center from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24. For more information about the fair, shredding event and other activities during Earth Week Naperville, visit www.napervilleparks.org/earthweek.
