The Naperville Park District recently received a Freedom of Information Request from the Edgar County Watchdogs (ECWd) regarding the District’s commissioner benefits policy; the District subsequently complied with the request.

The ECWd issued a statement questioning the use of discounted Park District programs by three of its seven board members. Commissioner benefits are established under a formal Naperville Park District board policy that has undergone review and a reduction in scope in recent years. The policy encourages participation in Park District programming by the commissioners in exchange for formal feedback regarding their experiences.

The District had already planned to discuss the topic of commissioner benefits at its meeting on Thurs., Oct. 28 at 6:30 pm.
