Naperville Plans Study Of Westside Neighborhood Traffic
Residents can complete an online survey to voice their traffic concerns.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- After receiving complaints from residents, city officials in Naperville are looking into ways to resolve ongoing traffic issues in the city's Westside neighborhood. Residents are encouraged to take part in an online survey to sound off about the traffic issues they've faced in the neighborhood as the city plans to hire a consulting firm moving forward.
The first step involves city officials collecting input from those who live, work, walk, bike, or drive through the neighborhood, which lies between Spring and Jackson Avenues from north to south and Washington Street and Douglas Avenue from East to West. The online survey about Westside neighborhood traffic will be available through Feb. 28.
Once residents have submitted their concerns, a study team will review the comments, along with current traffic and parking restrictions. Officials plan to complete this part of the study in March and April.

During this time, analysts also plan to evaluate traffic data from the Westside neighborhood. They'll study such factors as vehicle speeds, pedestrian and bicycle activity, and the number of vehicles parked and driving in the neighborhood.
City officials plan to meet in spring or summer of 2019 to review concerns and data collected in a meeting that will be open to the public. At this meeting, planners will share their recommended solutions and get feedback from the community for additional suggestions.
