Naperville Police To Increase Patrols Ahead Of Labor Day

Police will increasingly be on the lookout for impaired and distracted driving, speeding and seatbelt violations.

NAPERVILLE, IL— The Naperville Police Department is planning to increase patrols ahead of Labor Day as part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Campaign.

Police said in a news release that patrols will be stepped up between Aug. 20 and Sept. 8. Officers will be on the lookout for impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and seatbelt violations.

Naperville Police Sergeant Ricky Krakow said in the news release, "While celebrations marking the last days of summer may look different this year than in times past, the potential remains for an increase in the number of impaired drivers on the roads. Impaired driving kills more than 10,000 people in the United States each year. Please plan ahead for a safe ride home before you leave the house. It truly is a matter of life or death.”
