Naperville Police Provide Gifts for Mom Whose Presents Were Stolen
When the mom reported that gifts had been stolen from her car, officers took matters into their own hands.

A woman who had her Christmas presents stolen received more than a little help from the Naperville Police Department.
Officers were sent to a home at 8:20 p.m. Christmas Eve for a report of a theft, according to a social media post. A mom said that gifts she had bought for her one-year-old daughter had been stolen from her vehicle.
According to the police, the woman was “understandably upset” about not being able to provide Christmas for her daughter.

After consulting with other officers, police decided to purchase gifts for the child with their own money and wrapped the presents themselves. They delivered the gifts to the mom.
To help mitigate the cost, offers to contribute were extended to everyone on the shift, including the public safety answering point workers. Several people from both groups donated to the cause. Excess money collected will be provided to Toys for Tots.
