UPDATED: Missing 13-Year-Old Girl Located On Naperville's Southeast Side

Thirteen-year-old Chanyaa Bennett has been located.

Updated, 11:30 p.m. Sunday -- Chanyaa Bennett, 13, was located by police on Sunday evening.

Following is a statement issued by the Naperville Police Department:

“The Naperville Police Department would like to thank the public, as well as the Kane County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and the Cook County Sheriff Aviation Unit for their assistance in the search for Chanyaa Bennett. Ms. Bennett was located safe and in good condition at approximately 11:20 p.m. on the southeast side of Naperville.”

Original story: The Naperville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 13-year-old girl.

Chanyaa Bennett, 13, is African-American, approximately 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. She has long black hair and dark brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, hot pink and black plaid pajama pants, and turquoise house shoes.

Chanyaa is completely deaf and cannot speak. Her only means of communication is sign language and writing.

Chanyaa was last seen in the area of Brookline Court and Springhill Dr., in the Springhill subdivision located in the northeast section of Naperville at approximately 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22.

Anyone who may have seen Chanyaa is asked to contact the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6147 or call 911.
