Naperville Seeks Public Input On Downtown Streetscape

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville residents are invited to get information and share their thoughts on the city's downtown streetscape project at an upcoming meeting on Oct. 29. At the meeting, city officials and members of the Transportation, Engineering, and Development group will meet to present updated designs from the project, which aims to revamp and upgrade Jefferson, Main, Jackson, and Washington downtown.

The Oct. 29 meeting will feature three different presentation times between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. Residents can watch presentations at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.

City officials say each presentation will cover the same information. Exhibit boards with updated designs will also be on hand for residents to check out. Representatives from the developers, CivilTech Engineering, Inc., along with Naperville officials, will be on hand to hear feedback and answer questions.

Among the changes envisioned in the downtown streetscape project are updated utilities, pavement, and traffic lights. The shift also proposes changing angled parking on Jefferson Avenue and Main Street to parallel parking.
