Naperville Swimmer Takes 4th in 100-Meter Breaststroke at Olympics
Kevin Cordes finished with a time of 59.22 seconds.

It was a close match for Naperville’s Kevin Cordes, but he ultimately lost the chance for an Olympic medal in 100-meter breaststroke.
Cordes finished fourth with a time of 59.22 seconds.
Despite a disappointing finish, Cordes said he couldn’t ask for much more than the chance to compete.

"I’m competing in the Olympic Games representing the U.S. and I made the final," Cordes told the Chicago Tribune. "I can’t ask for much more.”
Cordes still has a chance to take home the gold Aug. 9 in the 200-meter breaststroke.
