NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville has once again been ranked the top suburb in Illinois for retail and restaurant sales. The city knocked Schaumburg out of the top spot in 2018 and held its spot in the annual review by the Illinois Department of Revenue, Chicago Tribune reports.

Naperville is no stranger to topping theannual list for retail sales. Much of this consistent success is tied to auto sales and sales at grocery stores and hardware and home improvement stores.

Naperville taking the top spot in restaurant sales as well has been something relatively new. The shift is likely a result of the variety of dining options in and around Naperville, which keeps growing with the addition of new dining spots.
