Naperville's 2022 West Suburban Irish Parade Steps Off March 12

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville's streets will once again be filled with Irish wolfhounds, bagpipe players and floats emblazoned with bright green shamrocks when the 2022 West Suburban Irish Parade steps off on March 12. The city's beloved St. Patrick's Day celebration will make its comeback after having been canceled in 2021 due to coronavirus.

The parade will start at 10 a.m., with marchers making their way from the corner of Fifth Avenue and Mill Street before going south to Jackson. From Jackson, the parade will head to Main Street before coming to a close at Water Street.

This year's honorary grand marshal is Dr. Mark Goodwin. Goodwin, an interventional cardiologist at Advocate Health Midwest Heart Specialists, also serves as the Medical Director of Cardiology at Edward Hospital and the System Medical Director of the Cardiac Innovations and Structural Heart Center at Edward-Elmhurst Health.

In addition to the West Suburban Irish Parade, residents can embrace Irish culture with other events throughout Naperville. These events include:

• March 13: Live traditional Irish Music at Quigley's Irish Pub; 1 p.m.
• March 16: The Irish Mass at St. Raphael Church; prelude at 6:30 p.m., mass at 7 p.m.
